OUR MISSION:
The Gastonia ABC System provides for the retail and wholesale distribution of distilled spirits within the City of Gastonia with a legally compliant, ethical, and efficient business model designed to best serve its customers and citizens.
The Gastonia ABC System is a local governmental agency - a political subdivision of the State of North Carolina. Administrative oversight is provided by the North Carolina ABC Commission. General Statute 18B provides a uniform system of control over the sale, purchase, transportation, manufacture, consumption and possession of alcoholic beverages in North Carolina and provides procedures to insure the proper administration of the ABC laws under a uniform system throughout the state.
For FY 6.30.2009, the Gastonia ABC System distributed $460,000 to the City of Gastonia in addition to $28,293 for alcohol rehabilitation, and $18,728 for law enforcement; a total of $507,021.
